Being this is my own blog, I thought I’d write a list of notable games. I’m very picky when it comes to video games, and I’m not very easily impressed. I don’t care about fancy graphics if gameplay doesn’t back it up. (I don’t enjoy games with ugly graphics either, but I’m making a point) Games on this list have really made an impression on me.
Caveman Craig

By: RhysAndrews
One of the best life simulators I have ever played. Excellent way to spend time before school, etc. It’s funny, clever, and even difficult. One of the best parts, I find, is the fact that you aren’t an unseen supervisor or manager; you’re actually in the game as Caveman Craig, training and directing your caveman. You can even help them. There are three classes of cavemen: hunters (kill the food), gatherers (collect the food), and preparers (make the food). You, however, can perform all of those tasks; but it all soon becomes too much for just you, so you have to get other cavemen to join your civilization to help out. Sounds weird, but just play it.
Soldexus

This game struck something with me; I played it once and I couldn’t stop (well, I played it more than once). It’s engulfing, fun, and even somewhat scary at times. The music is brilliant; I’ve found myself many times singing the tunes as I did other things. It’s pretty hard, but instead of driving me away, it drove me forward. This is excellent work, and I look forward to more of Pneophen’s games.
Techno the Hedgehog

By: TechnoSuperguy
I don’t see many quality fangames out there, made with GM or otherwise. Techno the Hedgehog isn’t perfect, and it’s not really a copy of actual sonic games, but as a game it’s still wonderful. The storyline is actually funny, another thing I never see successfully implemented in GM games. There are no slopes, etc. as in Sonic Advance, but the game doesn’t really need them to be fun. TechnoSuperguy is teaching us an important lesson, about fangames and about every game: It doesn’t matter how many features a game has, as long as you know how to make it fun.
Garden Gnome Carnage

By: Ultimortal
The absurdity and wild humor this arcade game has to offer shoves this game right into a spot on my notable games list. Fling a gnome around and knock off all the elves trying to ambush your home building on wheels. Pluck bricks off the building and chuck them at the elves, or just smack into them with your bungee chord. I couldn’t stop playing this game for the longest time. It’s one of those games that’s just perfect. There are no flaws. It’s got variety, even for an arcade game. That along with showy, good looking, yet funny graphics, and new and original gameplay, all make this game as brilliant as it is. I don’t know how you thought of this game, Ultimortal, but I’m sure glad you did.
Games on this list are in no particular order. The only way any games will get on this list is if I happen to find and like the game while I’m browsing the Game Maker Community or yoyogames. Check back for updates.
